HOME: JUNE All-Access Live | Standard Price

Starting‌ Thursday,‌ ‌June ‌3rd ‌at‌ ‌9:00‌ ‌am‌ ‌ET‌ ‌

Bring‌ ‌consistency‌ ‌and‌ ‌community‌ ‌to‌ ‌your‌ ‌practice‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌month‌ ‌of‌ ‌bi-weekly‌ ‌livestream‌ ‌classes.‌ ‌

Longing, belonging and exclusion.

What is your conception of home? Who has access to it? What is it built on?

Now is the time to question what it means to be at home. This class will help us develop tools to advocate for belonging and to the end of racist exclusion that the nation state is predicated on. Our inquiry will support BIPOC right to safety and nurture a practice of belonging.

Weeks 1 & 2

Inquiry: What is the nation state? Why do we recognize the sovereignty of colonizers? Why do we recognize borders in so-called liberal discourses? Who belongs?

Movement: Limitless movement. Fluid exploration and play with our movement ranges and how they adapt and evolve from day to day. With support from resistance bands, weights and props.

Weeks 3 & 4

Inquiry: Who has access to feeling safe and grounded? Women, the working class, Black and Indigenous and People of color have long lived in spaces where they are told to accept they are not safe. Property, ownership and the volatility of living paycheck to paycheck. Sexual violence, hate crimes and police brutality. The list goes on and we will distill this as “the right to safety”. A necessary prerequisite to feeling at home. Adopting tools to understand why we have had to adapt to living with a precarious sense of home and working toward constructing alternative communities that can truly feel like home.

Movement: Stillness. Holding strong, simple and sweet postures. Weights, resistance bands and props will support us as we lean into stillness.
