I'm getting back to my teaching roots in this series. Learning and teaching is a feedback loop. Here's what I mean: Remember taking class in the "Before Times," i.e. pre-COVID in an actual brick and mortar studio? Think back to not having to look at a screen or even look to a teacher doing the practice on their mat. You were guided by their verbal cues, which were based on what they saw your body doing because they were walking around and watching you move. Do you miss it? Me too. I miss teaching to what I see in front of me because of how mutually beneficial it is to personalize the cues to a specific person's practice. You learn more, I learn more... it's a win-win.
So here's how it will work: you'll set your computer/phone/webcam up in a way that I can see you on your mat. I'll be glued to my screen watching you and your classmates and constantly adapting my cues, pacing, and even changing my plan on the fly based on what I see in front of me... just like we used to do in the studio space. If something needs to be workshopped, it will be a pause and watch me moment, but then I will come back to my screen to watch you and give feedback in real time.
Classes take place over Zoom every Monday & Wednesday 12:15-1:15pmET / 9:15am-10:15amPT in March. Playbacks of the live class will be available for one week.
