Theme | Tapas
Tapas is a sanskrit word that translates as heat or discipline. It also translates to the rigor or passion of discipline. Applying heat to something can create change or a transformation. But even as we talk about 'heat', it isn't just about a sweaty asana practice.
Tapas is about learning what is good for you. Knowing what practice(s) serve your well being and help you grow and ground. Our practices this month will reference the rigor of a disciplined practice. But not necessarily always hard and sweaty. It takes discipline to know that in order to really grow, quieter practices like pranayama and meditation are essential.
How does your discipline allow you to show up (off the mat) in spite of fear or hesitation?
Can changing up your routine serve you better, especially in the midst of the chaos of our current world?
We are closing out this year by going back to tapas. Instead of unraveling as the holidays roll in, we can hold space for the rest and relaxation of the holidays (whatever you celebrate) and anchoring with committing to take good care of ourselves.
Practice will be a well rounded vinyasa practice, with at least 10 min of slowing down and resting at the end.
Suggested props: 2 blocks, a strap, 1-2 blankets (or towels), and a bolster or 1-2 firm pillows
Your enrollment in this month-long class package is a one time payment (not a monthly subscription).
See you on the mat!
