It might be time to use our yoga practice to connect to our playful side. Life has been very stressful and heavy this past year, for so many reasons. Even in sadness and despair, moments of lightness usually sneak in. And bring tremendous relief! It's so important to practice finding joy in our lives. Even when things are hard.
For the month of June, the goal is connecting to a sense of play! This is not about smiling and laughing all the time. It's not about changing your personality into something it's not. It's very easy to be serious in a yoga practice; this month is about bringing in some levity. And still having it be meaningful.
Connecting to a playful yoga practice may help you feel a bit lighter. With the arrival of summer and warmer weather, it's a natural time to take ourselves a bit less seriously. And to connect to the sensation that just because something may be lighter doesn't mean it's any less effective or deep.
We will be playing with asana, meditation and pranayama.
All classes are live-streamed on Zoom on Tuesday mornings at 8am EST and Thursdays at 12pm EST, from June 1-29. I’ll be available 10 minutes before and after class for questions and to check-in. If you miss a practice, you'll have access to the replay for a week.
Practice will be a well rounded 60min vinyasa practice, with at least 10 min of slowing down and resting included at the end.
Suggested props: 2 blocks, a strap, 1-2 blankets (or towels), a bolster or firm pillows
The livestream class format is ideal for building a consistent practice within a supportive community. The regular class time will help with personal accountability and prioritizing your well-being. Your enrollment in this month-long class package is a one time payment (not a monthly subscription).
