First live class: Sunday, April 4
Has your body been feeling stiff and sluggish lately? Are you ready to shake off winter and meet the new season with a spring in your step? When we give our joints a little love, they reciprocate with improved ease, efficiency, and a sense of lightness in our movements and daily activities.
Throughout the month of April, we’ll love on our joints from head to toe. Each weekly live class provides a different 20-30 minute whole-body joint warm-up, followed by a deeper dive into the joints of one body region.
By the end of the month you’ll have:
- Practical tools for freeing up soft tissues that restrict joint movement
- Simple joint self-mobilizations to improve range of motion, brain-body mapping, and efficiency of movement
- An understanding of how your joints move independently and in coordination with other neighboring joints
- Strategies for training the strength, stability, and motor control necessary to support your newly acquired joint freedom long term
Our live classes take place over Zoom at the following times:
Sunday, April 4, 9:30-10:30AM EST
Sunday, April 11, 9:30-10:30AM EST
Thursday, April 15, 6-7PM EST (note different day/time this week)
Sunday, April 25, 9:30-10:30AM EST
7 day replays available for all live classes. I’ll be there 10 minutes before and after class so we can hang out, Q&A, and meet each other’s pets.
Week 1: Feet, ankles, knees
Week 2: Hips, pelvis, low back
Week 3: Upper back, ribs, shoulders
Week 4: Shoulders, neck, head
A small library of hand picked practice videos will be delivered on April 1 (or whenever you sign up after April 1). These videos include whole body warm-ups, self-massage, somatics, and four short joint mobility practices based on the body regions listed above. You’re invited to sprinkle in one or two sessions as you like between our live classes together. The pre-recorded videos for this series are yours to replay through April 30.
The hybrid format provides structure to your learning, helps you integrate and build on the material from class, and maximizes the benefits of our time together. Plus you’ll connect with a community of students all on the same ride.
For props this month I recommend having a pair of massage balls (or tennis balls), a light weight resistance band, a yoga block and strap, and a yoga blanket or large beach towel. These props are recommendations not requirements. I give lots of options so we can make it work!
Your enrollment in this month-long series is a one time payment (not a monthly subscription).
Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing you there,
PS - We believe in honoring the value of teaching and offering a practice that is accessible. Our tiered pricing system is self-determined. In deciding which price feels most appropriate to you, consider your social location (proximity to power and privilege), so that we can collectively move towards equity. If you need to pay less for any reason, we encourage you to pay this community price. If you are relatively stable financially, please pay the standard price.
