Elizabeth Barnett

I teach poetic, thematic classes with chanting, philosophy, and music that moves. Encouragement is always there to engage and rest as you need. Every body is welcome.

I have been deeply shaped by trauma-informed training with Liberation Prison Yoga, and though I’ve since stepped away, my initial training is 800-hr certification with Jivamukti. I’ve been teaching for 12 years and am continuing to learn and unlearn; working to unsettle my practices, queer my world, and care for others in pursuit of collective liberation.

I’m really grateful to be part of The Connective where we are learning from each other, working to be anti-racist, increasingly inclusive, and collectively tending to the care of teachers and the teachings from the roots up.

Elizabeth's classes are a challenge if that's what you're looking for, but also a beautiful reminder to be kind to yourself, always mixing familiar movements with unexpected surprises. And wonderful music choices!

Classes with Elizabeth are physically, mentally, and spiritually restorative; filled with consideration, love, and an invitation to deeper embodiment deeper presence.

Elizabeth, your class has been such an important grounding point in an uncertain time. Thank you for your powerful class.
